At Summerside Community Church, real relationships and grace form our foundation. Seeking to fulfill God's will, we're an ever-evolving, growing community. Our church is a mysterious union of spirit and flesh, a place to share joy and sorrow with those God loves. Gather with fellow believers, we are all in different places on our journey of following the way of Jesus. We seek to have Jesus in the centre of our vision and be the one we focus on in everything we do. SCC is a welcoming home, and we invite you to join our family.
Established in 1997, Summerside Community Church emerged from a split in another church, led by Founding Pastor Andrew Bryce and Associate Pastor Brian Metzger. Fueled by a vision for authentic relationships and faith, the founders navigated challenges like finding suitable worship spaces. The church's resilience and commitment to their values prevailed, leading to growth. Amidst obstacles, the core belief that "it's all about relationship" guided their journey. From humble beginnings in temporary locations like schools and theaters, the church's enduring pursuit of meaningful connections has shaped its identity, making Summerside Community Church a testament to faith and community.
Our mission is to invite everyone to follow the way of Jesus, focusing on Encounter, Discipleship, and Relationships.
As a People of Encounter, we attune ourselves to His presence, listening and responding to His voice. In Discipleship, our love for Him shapes our lives. We joyfully take up our cross, following His lead, and find that obedience unlocks deeper understanding.
In our Relationships, we emulate Jesus' love, respecting and valuing each individual as God's unique creation. We encourage everyone towards their divine purpose, embodying and sharing God’s love in our actions and words.
At the heart of our journey is the desire to see our community equipped, embracing God’s transformational presence and power. We are committed to nurturing a community where each person can experience and share the life-changing love of Jesus, growing in wholeness and authenticity.
What does this mean for you? Most importantly, you're always welcome at SCC. We're saving a seat for you. Wherever you're at in your faith, you'll always be welcome as part of our family as we all walk together in obedience to Christ.
